Hookah Freak is a brand that is very hit or miss with me.  It consists of flavors blended from the flavors that make up the Hookah-Hookah line of tobacco.  A Scooby Snack is apparently a mixed drink or shot that includes midori along with coconut rum and sometimes banana liquor, thus it is a melon flavored drink for the most part.  The Scooby Snack flavored hookah tobacco is mostly a melon blend.  It has a bit of a coconut in it but I could not detect any banana.  I had no idea what a scooby snack was when I first smoked this flavor.  To me it was a nice and smooth tropical melon blend.  It’s mostly a light cantaloupe flavor with some supporting honeydew.

8 out of 10.  If you want a good and affordable melon blend then this is an awesome option.  I think that they could enhance the melon flavor a bit and add in more banana and coconut and this would be awesome.  I docked it a bit because it’s pretty much just melon but if that’s what yo expect it’s nice.

Hookah Freak Rich and Smooth

Brand and Flavor: HF Rich and Smooth

Shisha Tobacco Cut: Typical HH/HF cut.  Very wet.

Hookah Type: KM double trimetal. Nammor hose

Duration: 45 minutes to an hour.

Bowl: Vortex bowl

Foil / Screen: Regular foil

Coal / Amount: 2 CH QL coals

Smoke:  Dense clouds with surprising size.

Buzz:  Very light and relaxing.

Smell / Flavor:  This smells like a slightly spicy and sweet blend.  It has notes of sour fruit.  The flavor is similar.  And interesting flavor with lots of possibility.

Rating (1 to 10): 8 I am giving this one an eight for a few reasons.  Firstly this is a good flavor.  It is indeed both rich and smooth.  I think this one was originally called Pippen’s Spiced Rum but they changed the name for some reason.  Probably because it doesn’t really taste like rum.   This blend has nice notes of spice and creaminess couple with tha slight flavor of the tobacco used and the distinct impression of some form of sour fruit.  I like it alone but it really shines as a mixer.  This blend mixes astoundingly well with most things i have ever tried it with.  From fruit to spices this flavor compliments everything.  I am not gong to go so far as to say that this is the blend is the perfect tobacco or that I think everyone will love it but it’s on my list of “the good stuff”.

Hookah Freak Smashing Pumpkin

Brand and Flavor: HF Smashing Pumpkin

Shisha Tobacco Cut: Typical HH/HF cut.  A slight bit wetter than the average.

Hookah Type: KM double trimetal. Nammor hose

Duration: 45 minutes or so.

Bowl: Vortex bowl

Foil / Screen: Regular foil

Coal / Amount: 2 CH QL coals

Smoke:  Dense clouds and pleasant mouth feel that is slightly thick.

Buzz:  Very light and relaxing.

Smell / Flavor: The smell on this one is… interesting.  It’s like a heavily sweetened pumpkin with a distinct creaminess and very low amounts of spice.  The flavor is much the same.

Rating (1 to 10): 6  I am giving this one relatively low marks.  I think they were going for a sweetened and creamy pumpkin but it’s not really a natural flavor at all.  Pumpkin is a hard taste to pin down and I think they did an ok job but would prefer a little more accuracy.  If you are ewxpecting a pumpkin pie type flavor you are not going to get it here.  There is a minimal spice character although that may be from the tobacco it’s self.  I would say the the taste is definitely some kind of gourd.  A bit squash like.  Sweet and creamy.  If this sounds good to you then go ahead and order it.  Even though it’s not very accurate it’s still the most accurate pumpkin I have found.  I mix this with spice blends and enjoy it but it’s rare that I want to smoke it on it’s own.

Hookah Freak Atomic Fireball

Brand and Flavor: Hookah Freak Atomic Fireball

Shisha Tobacco Cut: Typical HH and HF cut.  Shredded and moist.

Hookah Type: KM double trimetal. Nammor hose

Duration: 45 minutes or so.

Bowl: Vortex bowl

Foil / Screen: Regular foil

Coal / Amount: 2 CH QL coals

Smoke:  Thick large clouds and a nice room note.

Buzz:  Mellow and nice.  Light.

Smell / Flavor: Smells like and atomic fireball.  That’s about it.  The flavor is a sweet and spicy.  The cinnamon is subdued and a little weak at times.

Rating (1 to 10): 7 I am a fan.  It’s a nice step into spice flavors for those that have only enjoyed the fruitier side of hookah.  It’s not overly complex and is not going to wow you in the flavor department.  You get a sweet cinnamon flavor on the exhale and through the nose.  not so much as to make you sneeze or burn but enough to let you know it exists.  This can fade in and out a bit in intensity but the smoke always has a nice spice note.  I was really hoping this would be a strong cinnamon and live up to it’s namesake but sadly it fell pretty far short.   If you are a hardcore spice fan this will be nothing new and nothing amazing.  If you are more of a mixed drink and fruit hookah smoker then this is really worth a try.  It will open of a new side of hookah smoking that you may find you really enjoy but had not discovered yet.
