Social smoke is a brand that you should all be familiar with at this point.  I have been working my way through the multitude of flavors that the line offers and the average review is definitely positive.  Potion #9 by Social Smoke found it’s way into my hookah recently and I was pleasantly surprised.

I thought that this flavor was going to be something overly candied and artificial because of it’s name being a reference to love potion #9 which has an obvious association with valentines day which leads to thoughts of badly flavored candies and a pocket full of melted chocolate.

The smell on this flavor is nothing like what I expected.  The official description is a “tempting mix of fresh Melon, tart Cherries, ripe Raspberries, and juicy Pineapple.”  I can easily pick out the raspberry and the cherry.  The pineapple might be there but comes across as a generic sour and almost citrus flavor.  The melon is in the background a bit and I am ok with that as melon can easily over power other flavors.

The clouds are the standard from social Smoke at this point and are sure to satisfy the storm clouds seekers out there.

The flavor is just about the same as the scent.  It’s dominantly a blend of sweet fruit with a slight bit of sourness.  I wouldn’t say that the pineapple is really present in my opinion.  The raspberry and melon and somewhat in the front while being supported by the cherry.  It’s not particularly artificial but is somewhat of a candy flavor which makes sense considering it’s components.

8 out of 10.  I really like this flavor and will be smoking it happily for a while.  As always I would be happy if the flavor was a bit more natural and if all of the different flavors that are supposed to be a part of it were easily recognizable.  It’s worth checking out.

Social Smoke Mojito was a flavor that I was excited to try.  The mojito was one of my favorite mixed drinks and lime is one of my favorite all around flavors.

The smell on this one is nice.  It’s a bit of sweet lime and somewhat like mint chewing gum.  I know that doesn’t sound like the best combination but it’s good.  It’s a little artificial in regards to the mint but it balances well.

The smoke is big and puffy.  Exactly what you would expect from Social Smoke.

The flavor is a little less well balanced.  The lime is a bit weaker in the flavor than it was in the scent.  The mint flavor is definitely a little artificial and gum like but it’s not bad. I really wish that it was more of a natural mint flavor but that is something I ask of most mint flavors.  I wish the lime was stronger and that the balance was a bit skewed in the other direction but it’s damn tasty.

8 out of 10.  It’s a little artificial and slightly inaccurate but otherwise a solid flavor and one that I would suggest you check out.  If you like mojitos this should be on your wish list pretty soon.

Social Smoke Gumball was a flavor that I was slightly confused about when I first heard about it.  I incorrectly assumed that this was going to be a light mint flavor like many of the other “gum” flavors on the market.

The smell on this one is slightly rose like and very sweet.  It has a very light minty note to it but nothing of the actual smell of mint.  It’s hard to describe.

The clouds are exactly what I expect from Social Smoke at this point.  Big and puffy

The flavor is almost exactly like a classic gumball.  The basic pink that has no distinct flavor and can’t be described as anything but gumball.  Previous to this I had said that Blush was a flavor that reminded me of classic pink bubble gum but this is much more so.

8 out of 10.  This is an extremely accurate flavor.  The name is spot on and that means a lot to me.  I think that it is a little bit too light in flavor but that is understandable.  If you like the classic gumball flavor then this is right up your alley.  Check it out.  I recommend it.

Cosmopolitans are cocktails made with vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice and a little bit of fresh squeezed lime juice.   The mixed drink flavored tobacco is nothing new but it is a difficult to pin down the real flavor of the drink because things like vodka and triple sec have a flavor that is a result of the alcohol.  Without the alcohol there is often something missing.  When translated into hookah tobacco you essentially get the virgin version of the drink.

The smell of this tobacco in the package is interesting.  It’s kind of sweet and sour with a slightly… bitter scent that is pretty accurate to the drink but it was a little surprising.

The clouds on this one are exactly what I expect from Social Smoke.  Big and smooth.

The flavor is kind of like sweet tarts.  It’s fruity and tasty but I’m not sure it tastes like a cosmopolitan.  It has been a long time since  I have had a cosmo.  There is a bit of bitterness that is similar to the bitterness that comes with cranberry juice but I do not pick up any of the cranberry flavor.  Cranberry is an extremely difficult flavor the replicate in hookah smoke.  I am a fan of this flavor.

8 out of 10.  I think that it has some similarities to an actual cosmopolitan and the flavor is enjoyable regardless of it’s accuracy.  Check this one out.  It’s easily on my recommendation list.
