Natural hookah coals are becoming more and more popular these days. They are (as the name says) natural coals with no fast burning additives. They have pros and cons.

Pros:
- They don’t give a smell/flavor to the tobacco
- They are much cheaper
Cons:
- They burn faster than the fast burning coals so more of them has to be used (they are still cheaper considering this fact)
- They take longer to start
At the end of the day, I like and use both types of the coals. The fast burning ones are more handy and easier to work with, but if you want a perfect hookah you should go with the natural coals.

I definitely prefer natrual coals. I can taste the quick lights, and I am not a fan of that at all. However, when I have friends over, I use quick lights for their convenience. They are easy to start, you don’t have to play around with them to get good heat management, and they are easy to keep adding when one coal burns down. In other words, I prefer natruals with good friends who are in the know, but I won’t turn my nose up at a good quick light with good friends!
